
Richard J. Fox, MD, FACS is a Board Certified General Surgeon in private practice in Boulder, Colorado. He provides full-spectrum general surgical care including all types of gastrointestinal surgery (both benign and malignant), hernia repairs, endocrine surgery, as well as breast disease. He also has a special interest in thoracic and vascular procedures, including state-of-the-art treatment for varicose veins. Dr. Fox provides advanced minimally invasive approaches when applicable to all his surgeries.
Dr. Fox has been in private practice since 2002. He started Alpine Surgical in 2007.
Receiving his board certification from the American Board of Surgery in 2002, Dr. Fox is a Fellow of the American College Of Surgeons, as well as the American Society of Breast Surgeons. He is a member of the Colorado Medical Society as well as Boulder County Medical Society. He has served as Trauma Director for Boulder Community Hospital since 2003.
Dr. Fox earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with Honors from Indiana University in 1993. He returned to Illinois to pursue Master’s Degrees in Applied Physiology and Pathology, as well as his MD degree, at the Chicago Medical School in North Chicago. While there, he was elected as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Fox completed his Surgery internship and residency in General Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, in 2002.
