Location: Alpine Surgical – Boulder, CO
Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Position Summary
Alpine Surgical is seeking a professional and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant to support our experienced general and vascular surgeons. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical setting. Prior experience in general surgery is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories
- Prepare procedure rooms and assist providers with minor surgical procedures
- Coordinate pre-op and post-op patient instructions and follow-up
- Handle prior authorizations and surgical scheduling as needed
- Maintain clinical supply inventory and ensure exam room readiness
- Accurately document in the electronic health record system (Athenahealth preferred)
- Support front office functions when needed (phones, messages, patient check-in)
- Communicate clearly with patients, providers, and staff, including in both English and Spanish if bilingual
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical assistant; general surgery experience preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records; Athenahealth experience preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
Work Schedule
- Full-time, 4-10hr shifts
- No weekends, holidays, or on-call required
